How is it done? See I want to let the user view the profiles of people on the scoreboards. The thing is the name may or may not be the name of a registered user. I need to load my data from the scoreboard (inside a while() loop I might add) and while doing that I want to check and see if the name existed on the user table, and if so I create a link to the profile page with the _id of the user from the _users table.

For this kind of thing you might want to look up MYSQL subqueries, and play around with that tedious join function.

Here's a site with some info on subqueries

I haven't really read it so if it's crappy I can try and find you another source, but at least it is a start.

If I think I know what you're asking about, try the mysql join syntax, although I'm not possitive that this is what you're asking about.. http://www.mysql.com/doc/en/JOIN.html
